How to Index blog with bing

Submitting your blog to bing for indexing is easier than submitting your blog google but the draw back in that is bing takes longer time to get your pages indexed than google.

1) Go to this link.
2) Write your blog's name http://YOURBLOG'SNAME.blogspot.com/
3) Provide the capatcha and submit its done.
Q) Well now what about this thing ?
Ans) Here we go to step 4.

4) Select GREAT! SIGN ME UP.
5) Sign in this thing with your Hotmail's or live id.

6) Once you do that it asks for sitemap.

 http://YOURBLOG'SNAME.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

copy and paste this written in bold in the provided space with your blog's name in it.

7) After this you will see a page asking for verification of ownership of your blog and giving you some options we would go for 2nd option in this case, that is copy and pasting this.

 <meta name="msvalidate.01" content="101C01B6BA681D7DFA25F1F55362F81C" />
in your HTML coding.

Imp note: copy this from the page you are on from option # 2 2nd line, as a ppossibility that may be it gives you a different code.

8) Select your blog which you want to index and go to template and then select Edit HTML which you can see bordered with red in this image.

9) select this and paste the code you have copied in 7th step in it like this the one bordered in red is the pasted code and then save this template.

10) Now on the bing's page press verify button.

11) Now what you see is the Dashboard providing information about your site and the status you see which say success is not about indexing but its about successfully submitting your site map.

This is what I my self had done and is now waiting for my blog to get indexed by bing, be patient as bing takes time to get pages indexed and if I am lacking somewhere please do guide me by commenting so others may get benefit of it.

Getting Backlinks and its Usage

If you are a blogger or running a website and is posting things, then there is no doubt that you would have heard the word backlink many times to make your SEO better, backlinks though a very important tool for SEO is not very user friendly to be achieved like a keyword rich content as here, it is not you who is solely involved in its development but also the referral blog or web site is also involved which allows you to leave your Blog’s link on its page.

Let us turn to our question’s first part and define Backlinks.

Backlinks are the links that refer to your website or blog from another person’s blog or website let say for example that you have a blog and now you came on my blog and liked my material and you take my content as your reference, if you would like your audience to also look through my way, so if you provided on your blog my blog’s link then the link on your page would be the backlink to my page. That was a one simple example of creating and having a backlink.

The above paragraph covers the first part of question that is, what are backlinks? The other one remains as it is, That is, How to get them? Don’t worry we will answer this question in the next paragraph and will also discuss some important factors which are affected by having backlinks and will also discuss about the quality of back links.

First of all what you have to do is to enable the setting of showing backlinks on your blog all you have to do is to is to go in setting and then go to comments and posts in it and then you have select show which is initially on hide as shown in the image.

Follow the given link  How to use backlinks  and make changes in your blog's setting after reading this.

 a)  One of the ways of getting backlinks to your blog is to comment on the related topics of the post you have made, by finding them on another person’s blog and the back link will appear on that go to the given link for more information on this.

b) If you have good contacts with people running well ranked websites and blogs ask them to support you by having your backlink on their pages.

There are also backlink generating websites you can use but the problem with that is that you must have a good quality of backlinks pointing to your website so your website or blog may get high ranking from google and its authenticity is another problem. Quality is determined from where your backlink is for example your backlink for your blog post on "flowers" lie on some website which have got low ranking and a post on "fire".

Backlinks though a very important tool for SEO is not the only way you can get your website ranked well in the search the main thing which matters is the content and above all which matters is your post heading which is seen by the search engines as H1 heading which should be given to the post after some required level of uniqueness and also the use of key words in your content but avoid over using.

How to Get Your Blog Indexed On Google in Next 24 Hours

I have seen this that there are many articles about the way of getting your blog indexed on Google but there are certain misconceptions about these things which I have encountered while getting my own blog indexed by Google. The procedure is like this as follows and one misconception which i faced is written in the end of this text.

1.       First step go to your blog setting then go to search preferences

2.    In search preferences go to customs robots.txt

3.    Edit it and select yes as option space will occur for writing, paste this written in bold in it with your blog's name in the sitemap.

User-agent: Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow:
Allow: /

In Blogspot it is done up till here

Note Extra stuff for interested readers:

This is to allow search engines to access your blog User-agent:* this is to allow all search engines to access your blog by putting * there and instead writing any particular name there like in the first line will allow only that search engine to visit your blog Disallow: /  if this “/” is put in it like this would disallow all search engines to visit your home page and so your blog is invisible to them, so thus if you want to block search engines to visit some part of your blog you can add that extension to it like Disallow: /b/  so now anything in your blog starting with this name "/b/" would be invisible to search engines.

4.    Go to Google webmaster tools, if you are unaware of it search it on Google itself. Login in with your blogger’s email id and password.

5.    There you will see your blog’s name click on it.

6.   Go to optimization in the left hand side and then select sitemap under it.

Note: Extra stuff for interested readers.

As you can see there are two bars one red and another blue. Blue bar is for the number of submitted pages which you would see initially on your window and the red bar which will gradually appear after some time is for the pages indexed by the Google.

7.   On the top right side there is a button in red ADD/TEST SITEMAP press it.

8.    In the space paste this written in bold exactly as it is.

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Imp Note: this sitemap if for indexing maximum 500 pages.

9.    And then press submit sitemap.

Important things which I observed:

There is no specific number of pages initially which are required for you to get your blog indexed, as can be seen from the image that I have only indexed by home page, as this is the initial stage for my blogging and the next thing is that don’t make great changes to your blog appearance once submitted this may delay your blog getting indexed, it's my personal experience as my friend’s blog get indexed one day before mine though I have submitted sitemap a day before him and if still your blog does not get indexed after one whole day then you should resubmit your sitemap do sign out  (if you haven’t done that when submitting sitemap) and then sign in again just precautionary.
